Clay Vogel, AIA

Professional Summary
Clay J Vogel leads the design efforts for the firm on projects ranging in type from luxury villas to multi-building, mixed-use projects – including hospitals, laboratories, research centers, and entertainment buildings – throughout the US and abroad. It is on these programmatically-demanding project types that he has shown his talent to not only solve design problems, but also create significant architecture. This range of project experience has given Clay a broad perspective to his design approach: each project is a unique challenge within its own context, and his ultimate goal is to arrive at a functionally effective, aesthetically satisfying design solution. The strength of his ideas lies in his pursuit of design excellence, recognition of place, and attention to sustainability in each commission. In a world that is accelerating toward an ever more homogenous appearance – regardless of whether you find yourself in Los Angeles, Shanghai, Delhi, or Moscow – Clay seeks to acknowledge and incorporate in his designs the patterns of culture, climate, and social interaction unique to each setting. His commissions are marked by a distinctive yet appropriate language for the highly complex and technologically sophisticated building programs of our modern times. Clay is also a recipient of Building, Design & Construction magazine’s prestigious “40 Under 40 Superstars” Award in 2008.
