Located in Xiqing Tianjin, the No. 95 School project consists of sixty-six classrooms to promote China’s new learning philosophy.  The overall campus is arranged around a central student plaza and sports field. The classroom components are formed into groups emulating a small school environment. The groups are then laid out around central courts that foster interaction and knowledge transfer amongst students.  The groups are supported by shared administration and sports facilities that front the campus while the report hall marks the entrance to the campus. The architectural expression relies mostly on local and natural materials that are tied together with strong roof elements. The roofs provide both spatial and material unity throughout the campus while also providing adequate shading to glazed components, optimizing the focus of natural daylight for the classroom environment.
