OSU Medical Center

This 74,000 square foot hospital project contains a diagnostic / treatment center that includes 14 operating rooms and a highrise tower which has the capacity of 420 beds. The podium also features a grand concourse to unite the traffic circulation and functions of the entire Medical Center campus. The plan design of the tower was separated by two parts and a greenhouse garden sits in the middle. Due to the physical site constraints, the tower sprawls beyond the reach of the podium where it comes to rest on the Quad Pod. Branching from a unified point, the Quad Pod, a powerful urban gesture, provides an iconic image that transcends the future of healthcare services and aspirations of The Ohio State University Medical Center– it symbolizes hope for what can be.
