Changhong’s new International R&D Center consists of 4 major program components: the first (North Tower) consists of a 38-floor, 150m tall, 70,000m² class 5A office tower. The second (South Tower) is a 20-floor, 80m tall, 50,000m² slab tower that has flexible floor plate. The first 8 floors of the South Tower contain 20,000m² of class 5A offices and the upper 12 floors contain a 30,000m² SOHO component (small office / service apartment). The two towers connect with a 10,000m² podium consisting of a bank, convenience store, restaurant, employee cafeteria, and a 2000m² museum / exhibition space for Changhong. There is also a 40,000m² two level basement with 1,100 parking spaces. The layout of the site uses both western and feng shui techniques. The architecture curves round forming two opening arms that gesture to welcome guests from all around the world. The buildings are arranged around a plaza, creating an attractive and pleasant environment.
